About Ox Landscape Construction & Tree Service

The history of how and when Ox Landscape Construction and Tree Service got started goes back to when the owner, Nate, was 9 years old and started a lawn mowing business with his older brother, mowing the neighbors yards. That stemmed off to do landscaping for mowing customers. Once he got his drivers license, he bought his own pick up truck for $700 and began a little landscaping business with his friend for the summers in High School.
After high school, Nate joined the Army Corp of Engineers, which he is still currently serving in as a Reserve member.
He worked for the largest Landscaping company in Wisconsin where he gained a wealth of knowledge coupled with his Engineer work in the Army.
In 2003, he was called to Iraq with the Army and when he came back in 2004, he decided to start up Ox while attending business school. Soon thereafter, he decided he would put all of his attention into Ox and the rest is history!
Nate grew up in Waukesha, moved out to East Troy in 2008. He has always had a passion for the outdoors, nature and building things. From a young age his parents allowed him to create with landscaping in their yard, that grew a love for what he does to this day.
Although located in East Troy, Ox Landscape Construction & Tree Service’s service area is all of Waukesha County and northern half of Walworth County.
How has Ox grown over the years?
Started out with a pick up truck and a bunch of hand tools. Nate has always been the type to do more with less. Ox now has larger equipment to get jobs done quickly and efficiently.
Where did the name “Ox Landscape Construction & Tree Service” come from?
Nate wanted something that stood out and wasn’t just the typical “last name” business name. He did a mix and used his family heritage. It is a throw back to his ancestors, who in Germany were Oxen farmers and that is what his last name meant in German where they lived.
What sets Ox apart from other local companies?
We develop a good working relationship with our customers and make sure that we know what their needs and wants are. This is why we have a lot of returning customers. We treat our customers like family and are looking to earn any of their future work not just the one job they initially called us for.
